With a handle that measures 38 inches and a rail that extends 25 inches from the RV, the Rail Mate mounts via a plate bolted to your steps. It is designed for double-, triple- and quad-entry manual steps (and its made in the U.S.). For $139, it could be a good investment in safety.

A portable power surge guard for your RV that shuts off power during unsafe conditions is available from the Technology Research Corporation in Clearwater, Florida. Designed for 50 Amp travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes, the Surge Guard plugs in between the power pedestal and the line cord to provide protection. It has a LCD display and detects plug/receptacle over temperature, open ground, excessive voltage, low and high voltage, or open ground/neutral wire. The Furrion NV2200 (offered by Furrion of Elkhart, Indiana) is an in-dash navigation system that provides surround viewing for ease in changing lanes, merging with traffic and making wide turns. It has a touch-panel display that measures 6.2 inches. The camera techology automatically adjusts the contrast to the outside environment including infrared vision up to 50 feet. The system sells for around $800. The system’s side and rear cameras are sold separately.

Lippert Compenents (Elkhart, Indiana) is offering the Correct Track suspension alignment system. The system can be integrated into an RV suspension system. It allows simple 1/4 inch increment alignment adjustments where misalignment has occurred. An alignment system can help prevent suspension misalignment, tire wear, vibrations and tire blowout. Correct Track suspension alignment system can be purchased through Happijac, A division of Lippert.
