One of the biggest events on the RV calendar kicked off yesterday with the opening of Outlook 2010: Let the Sun Shine In.  Sponsored by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), the 47th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, KY is scheduled to present “a message of optimism” to members of the RV nation.

This year’s message is that this is a great time to buy RV and own an RV. Not only is RVing a wonderful way to get back to nature, it’s a very “green” way to live. The show will shine a spotlight on some of the industry’s new eco-friendly RVs. Today RVs are leading the way in green construction and green energy applications. Individual RVers have long pushed the “green” envelop, tinkering with homemade systems to stretch fuel mileage and increase energy efficiency. Many of these “garage inventions” are now being applied to mainstream RV manufacture. Solar panels, fuel efficient heating and cooling systems, components made from recycled products, sustainable interiors like bamboo paneling and floors, and much more are just some of the exciting developments in the RV industry.

Of course, green living is just part of RVing’s appeal. It’s the idyllic, carefree and relaxing RV lifestyle that appeals to most folks. The opportunity to indulge their wanderlust? That’s just icing on the cake!
