In a world transformed by the battle against the novel coronavirus, it’s refreshing to learn some very good news. And, most RV Manufacturers have really stepped up and are shining bright in the fight.
Here’s a quick look at how some of Thor Industries’ iconic brands (so far to date) have been able to help frontline healthcare workers in the battle against the pandemic.
Airstream, Inc.: Airstream has donated two of their NEST travel trailers for the Wilson Health medical team to use as a drive-thru COVID-19 testing facility in Shelby, Ohio. The team will collect samples from patients to be tested for the virus.

Jayco, Inc: Jayco has donated three of their Seismic 4125 toy haulers to help battle the virus. Two units went to a clinic to provide additional space for pediatric immunizations outside the clinic, to help protect children from exposure to the virus. One unit went to the Middlebury Fire Department to serve as quarantine space in case one of the firefighters acquires the illness. Jayco has also donated safety glasses, face masks and vinyl gloves to healthcare facilities and first responders in Southbend and Goshen, Indiana.

Heartland Recreational Vehicles: Heartland RV donated two pallets of critical supplies, including 400 face masks and 700 chemical protective suits to Beacon Health System in Elkhart, Indiana.

Keystone RV Company: Keystone donated supplies in their local Indiana area including eye protection for Goshen Hospital, masks for healthcare workers in a group of nursing homes in Northern Indiana, 400 masks to St. Anthony hospital, as well as masks and protective suits for the Wakarusa Ambulance Department.

K-Z Recreational Vehicles: K-Z Recreational Vehicles raised money to contribute medical supplies to area hospitals. They are also working with Goshen General hospital and other area businesses to construct reusable protective masks.

This is great. Now, the rest of the industry needs to kick in. Everyone in America needs to kick in whatever they can. I know that there are some big players in this industry. Where are they now? A nonprofit I run has changed gears from providing high-tech mobility devices for wounded disabled veterans to providing hand sanitizers to fire and police depts around the country.
Congratulations, Gary, on switching gears with your non-profit! Tons of RV manufacturers are stepping up as well. It’s great to see so many people and companies offering help during this pandemic.
