We've been RV-ing since 1990, progressing from 2 Class-C's to 2-Class A's including a beautiful Tiffin Diesel Pusher in which we full-timed for 2 years. When we settled down again, we downsized to this wonderful Winnebago View with the 23H floorplan.
We sought quality, reliability, and economy in our new rig. We also didn't want to tow a car on our trips, looking for an RV that was small, manueverable, easy-to-drive, and easy-to-park when we wanted to stop. The View is by far the easiest RV to drive, gets the best mileage (17-19 mph), and has all the torque you need to climb those nasty mountains out west and in the Appalachians. My wife refused to drive the big Class A's, but single-handedly, and happily, drove the Winnebago View 2000 miles while towing a UHaul trailer. That says a lot!
With 68K miles on the odometer, the Mercedes Turbo Diesel is just broken in! We just added a brand new Dometic awning (and hardware) to replace the cumbersome original. (Manual but nice and simple!) The Michelin tires have a 2013 DOT stamp and plenty of life left.
The convection oven doubles as a microwave, the Onan Micro-Quiet generator has only logged 120 hours, and in cold weather, the heated holding tank guards against freezing.
Last year we replaced the radio/CD with a new Pioneer Satellite (Sirius) unit, and installed new chassis and house batteries. The exterior and interior are in great condition. The passenger seat was also modified to rotate, improving seating when setup for camping, and a new, larger TV with an adjustable mounting bracket was added.
This floorplan is hard to find: Without sacrificing sleeping capacity, the 23H provides the best use of living space in a smaller Class-C configuration. The table and jackknife sofa convert to beds so you can comfortably sleep 5-6 with this floorplan.
All-in-all, this is a very nice RV and you can't beat the combination of Mercedes' engineering and reliability and Winnebago's reputation for quality. Take it out for a ride! Contact me for more pictures!
