We researched all makes and models of Class C RVs and found this to be the absolute best of the C-Class. It has the Mercedes-Benz Diesel engine and Mercedes chassis which is well-known to be incredibly reliable.
With the double-wide slide that extends the Murphy Bed/couch and dinette out, you have an amazing amount of room that you don’t expect to find in a C Class RV.
The kitchen has more counter space/prep area than all other C Class RVs that we researched. There is an outstanding amount of storage on the kitchen side to hold everything you need. I carry a large crock pot, toaster, coffee maker and air fryer at all times, while still having room for pots, pans, plates, glasses, coffee cups, silverware and a set of 12 wine glasses, as well as numerous other kitchen items, games, etc. The pantry with slide out shelves is one of the best features and is incredibly roomy and convenient!
The beauty of this Murphy bed is that you can leave all of your bedding and pillows (plus a mattress topper!) on the bed and close it with the push of a button. It also has outlets with 2 plug-ins and 2 USB ports on both sides of the bed. The shelf next to the bed is large enough that I had my iPad, phone, Tervis tumbler and a book next to me at all times.
The walk-around Queen-size Murphy Bed/Couch and dinette side has even more storage. Six large overhead cabinets, plus storage under the couch and both dinette seats.
The cabinetry in the Navion is made by a European yacht company, so the quality is impeccable, and is made to take movement and moisture. The durability and quality is evident, and will last a lifetime.
The cab over bunk is very spacious, and has an LED light that is either a standard light or flip a switch for a blue night light/reading light. It has its own window for catching the outside breeze.
Driving the Navion is a breeze. I had never driven anything larger than an F-150, but I hopped in the Navion and felt comfortable from the beginning. The Mercedes-Benz Diesel engine is extremely smooth and has no hesitation on hills, and is much more fuel efficient than a gas engine. We camped with family that had a smaller gas-engine C Class, and they had to fill up far more frequently than we did.
This RV also has dual solar panels and solar management panel that keeps the 2 house batteries charged at all times. The solar system was tested, and the refrigerator and freezer were able to maintain with no other power source for a full 5 days, even in cloudy weather.
Also included is an Onan LP generator with a 13 gallon tank built in under the body. This generator is quiet enough to run in RV parks that have sound restrictions.
The 2 captain’s chairs in the cab rotate around to provide more seating in the living area. There is an extra table that can be dropped in in front of these captain’s chairs or the couch, and has a convenient storage space in the closet (in the bathroom).
The bathroom closet is very large with a hanging bar. We added two drop-down organizers, as we didn’t bring many hanging clothes items. These held towels and other items for the bathroom. The medicine cabinet is very spacious and also has shelves to the left with bars to keep items from falling out in transit. The shower “door” is a retractable material that squeegees itself when closing to prevent mildew. The bathroom has a vent that is also rain-proof, meaning that it can even be used while it’s raining.
In the main living area, there are 2 more vents. One by the stove to expel cooking odors and another by the entry door which is automatic. This is an amazing feature that will open the vent by itself if the the AC is off and gets above a pre-set temperature.
The freshwater tank is in-house, under the couch. The gray and black water tanks are under the coach, and are heated, making this RV cold-weather able!
Under the sink there is a water filtration system to ensure that you have clean water.
The furnace is 20,000 BTU as well as a heat pump in the AC unit to provide another 15,000 BTU of heat, for a total of 35,000 BTU of heat capability. (To put this in perspective, our house is 3,600 sq ft and the furnace is 90,000 BTU.) And Winnebagos are insulated top, bottom and sides, which helps tremendously with both heating and cooling.
There is a very large amount of storage outside the coach as well! (See pictures)
The HWH Auto-Leveling System makes setup a breeze! You park where you want, engage the emergency brake, extend the slide and push one button (auto-level). The system will level the RV within a minute. Additionally, we added “snap pads” which are rubber pads that snap onto and stay fastened to the leveler feet. Some campgrounds require rubber pads under levelers to avoid damaging asphalt surfaces. Here’s what this means for you...you push a button, crack a cold one, and watch others struggle to manually level their rigs for the next hour while you are already relaxing. The RV also came with 2 electric stabilizers in the rear to enhance the stability while walking around in the coach.
Our insurance costs were $75/mo, with Progressive. That includes $0 deductible for windshield rock chips, and replacement cost as well.
The outside powered awning is huge, and has an LED light strip that provides great lighting at night. It can also be angled down during the day to provide more shade.
There is also a central entertainment system with speakers to the outside. It includes bluetooth so you can connect with your cell. There are also outside tv connections and rooftop connections for satellite.
This RV has a Rand Mcnally Info center with GPS and a whole array of RV tools.
Best of all, this RV has only 3,065 miles! It is practically brand new. You get the advantages of a lower price than new, with added extras. We love this RV. When not in use, it has been stored in a garage, so has no weather exposure or wear, and hasn’t been sitting outside in constant heat or cold. The cleverness of storage, the overall efficiency, the large amount of living space with a small footprint means this is truly a home away from home that can be packed up and ready to go in an instant! We unfortunately lack the time to go camping, and our hope is that someone will be able to enjoy this incredible RV!
