This rare low mileage 2008 Mercedes Benz Sprinter is a well sought after gem because it was one of the last years you could buy a Sprinter van without the complex and irritating SCR/DEF system. Not only does the DEF system make the newer 2010+ Sprinters less fuel efficient by about 2mpg it can be a huge headache to repair and keep working properly as the years go on… So no need to worry about that here!

For example w/ 2010+ Sprinter Vans:
a. Replace DEF system roughly* every 100k miles = $7500
b. Refill DEF tank every 5000 miles - BLUE DEF ($17.15 for 2.5 gallons) over 100k miles = $685.97
c. Loose 2mpg 100,000/16= 6250 100,00/18=5555 so 6250-5555= 695 extra gallons of diesel over 100k miles
d. 695 gallons x $6.26 per gallon (CA Diesel Average 11/15/22) = $4350.70 extra diesel cost every 100k miles

EXTRA operating cost over 100k miles would be roughly* $7500 + $685.70 + $4350.70 = $12,536.40
