FOR SALE: 1979 MIC MC-5C Custom RV Conversion 35 Foot with Pop-out…top quality...MINT $98,500 USD
Bus Conversions / Los gatos, CA

This is a very rare 1979 35 foot MCI MC-5C diesel pusher bus conversion. The MC-5C featured a modernized front end to match the 40-foot MC-8 which was in simultaneous production. The 35 foot MCIs are very rare and this one is probably the nicest MC-5C coach ever built. See detail pics at: https://500px.com/vonschmitzer
Originally 200 1979 MC-5C buses were built by Greyhound under contract from Aramco in Saudi Arabia. Modifications made for desert operation included an increase in air conditioning capacity, an oversized engine cooling system, dual air cleaners and an extra roof cover to insulate coach interiors from the action of the sun. After service in SA, the buses were returned to the US.
In 1999 this MC-5C was purchased by an ambitious new owner whose goal was to convert it into a custom motor coach with the ability to tour all of the national parks, meeting the 35 foot maximum length. After two years at Montana Motor Coach Industries and over $250K, the new coach with exquisite attention to detail was completed and presented to the owner where it was then driven back to Southern California. MMCI stripped everything off, down to the bare frame before building. For 17 years, the coach was lightly used in the summers and always carefully maintained and stored in a climate controlled RV condo when not in use. Mileage is just under 35K, which is nothing for a Detroit Diesel.
It was then sold to its new owner in Northern California where it underwent many upgrades along with a complete service to every system. All air and electrical system components tested, upgraded or replaced where needed. New Michelin tires and Goodyear airbags were installed. Oil and coolant systems drained/flushed and replenished. Garmin Diezel navigation, auxiliary outlets, stereo were all upgraded.
Now for what makes this coach really special and a once in a lifetime opportunity for the new owner:
