FOR SALE: Second Owner, Same Family, One of a Kind!! $20,000 USD - OBO
Class A - Gas / Tucson, AZ

WOW!! One Rare Find! It's a Journey!! This 1982 Nostalgic Time Capsule that is a Super High Quality Well Built and Consistently Maintained Mobile RV, that has had only two owners from the same family, and has been in southern AZ most of the it’s winters and half of it's life is now being offered For Sale!! It was made and sold by Journey Motor Homes Inc. in Elkhart, IN as a 34’ SP (Special) in 1982 and had nearly $9000 worth of options years before Winnebago began making their version of the Journey. It was also one of the very first of this model designed and sold with a side bathroom which is conveniently located immediately inside the entry door on the drivers side and has a half wall fiberglass tub, shower and sink unit with a new ceramic toilet and an upper cabinet above. The mileage of this road worthy and good running Roadmaster Rail Chassis and its 454 Chevrolet Engine has yet to reach 100,000 mile and the Onan 4.0 BFA Gen-set (4000 Watt) is still under 400 hours with a recent carburetor rebuild and is quite reliable. The exterior body is in good condition and we recently spent care with reconditioning and sealing the roof of questionable areas with particular attention to all seams and penetrations. Five of which are roof vents, two have exhaust fans and three have Max-air vents that allow the vent covers to remain open if desired. The roof has leaked in the past but not to the point of weakening the ceiling panels and has been attended to. New vinyl trim has replaced much of the screw cover trim and all doors and windows function as necessary. There are 7+ exterior storage compartments, one that houses the batteries and one the generator. This RV has 40 gallons of onboard water and city water connections as well as two 25’ cords and adapters to hook up to 120 volt 15 or 30 Amp power with black and gray water tanks for hookup stays. The roof has four solar panels feeding a controller that reliably keeps the batteries charged. The unit came with an onboard 160 gal propane tank that we had used 6 years ago for a road trip and had not experienced any leaks but we have used the rig for 20 years with exterior portable tanks successfully when we were stationary. The units 5 original awnings operate effectively and are in excellent condition and the stair unit in the picture can go with the RV if you are inclined to be stationary for some time. The interior that can sleep six is best to be described in four compartments. The driving cab that has a back/forth adjustable steering column, has automotive air and cruise control of which I have not recently used, an AM/FM Multiplex radio with front and rear compartment speakers, two dash fans, a Midland 4001 40 Channel CB with remote speaker and external antenna connection, full width overhead cabinets, and curtains that offer side and windshield privacy and also some that can separate the cab to living area both where both cab seats that recline and swivel can join if desired. The living area is carpeted and has a couch that can sleep two, a portable three piece table that stores conveniently in the pantry/closet, and two chairs that also recline and swivel with a custom built cabinet between. Both sides of the RV in that area have overhead storage cabinets with large windows. To the left of the entry/screen door combo is the three drawer kitchen cabinetry with a drop down countertop extension, a double stainless steel sink, a four burner stove/oven, upper cabinets for dishes and a microwave oven (included), an eight cf. Norcold refrigerator/freezer that operates on A/C and propane. To the driver’s side of the linoleum floor kitchen area is the dinette with dining table that has an optional extension, a large window with overhead cupboards and seating for four that can also convert to sleep two. Immediately towards the sleeping area from the dinette and refrigerator there is carpeting to the rear that has spacious 2 door lighted closet or pantry areas on ea side with a privacy partition to the bedroom area that features three large windows, a double bed and a mirrored vanity/jewelry cabinet, many drawers and upper cabinets on both sides and the rear. Seven floor lights with two three way switch locations light the way at night. The Small Wonder” central vacuum system and microwave work flawlessly with the generator or plugged in to an AC power source. The upholstery is a medium blue in good condition and was installed sometime in the mid 90’s, the Roman shades are in good condition and all operate well. There are seven operating windows on the unit that all have the original screens. The onboard fresh water capacity is held with two 20 gallon tanks under the bed and the system works as necessary with the 12 volt pump giving adequate pressure. The hot water heater works three ways; has a heat exchanger that comes off of the engine when driving, propane and AC electric which also hasn’t been used as we have been using it off the grid. There are two types of onboard heaters, one being the installed Suburban unit that has a thermostat and 12 volt blower and the other is propane glass mat 4 position heater mounted on the bathroom wall as seen in the picture. An onboard Air-Ax Suspension System was installed for the rear wheels is another bonus on an older unit as it assists with leveling while parked and adjusts for your ride. The front suspension air are individual boots called Ride-Rite Comfortaires also assist riding comfort. This unit is complete with a Roadmaster vehicle towing system and a VIP Tow Brake System for the tow vehicle along with the two inch frame connected hitch socket and two spare tires, one of which is enclosed in the rear hard cover spare tire rack. The original manuals are included for most of the units that are mentioned as well as the original sales and licensing documents. The RV measures 35 ½ ft long 9 ½ ft wide and its height is 10 1/2‘. There are check marks on the sales slip for items that have changed or no longer are with the unit. Please let me know if you would like further information, details, pictures or videos.
