Grand Touring Series
by Forest River
This is an older but well kept 28 foot motorhome that is perfect for a retired couple touring the states.
Living area: has one slide out encompassing the sofa and the pantry with pull out shelving. There is a removable table for dining, And the Sofa pulls out into a extra bed.
Master bedroom: is at the rear of the motorhome and includes a queen bed, with a side table, drawers, clothes closets, and ample overhead storage. The sculpted window dressings include a two layer pull down, one that lets in some light, and a second for complete privacy.
Kitchen area: includes a 2-burner propane stove top with exhaust hood, a microwave/convection oven, and sink with hot and cold water, and of course a large refridgerator and freezer. There is a large four door cabinet above the kitchen and a 2-door cabinet below the sink, with another drawer below the microwave/oven.
Bathroom: lies between the livingroom and the bedroom. On the right is a room with the toilet and shower. On the left is a sink and mirror area with additional storage areas. The bathroom is vented and there is a clear skylight over the shower.
Cockpit: Is a standard Ford E450 truck cockpit with two captains chairs (that do not swivel, sorry). The radio has been upgraded to include AM/FM/CD/DVD GPS-navigation and video rear view camera. The engine is a Ford Triton V10 and I have been getting 9-10 MPG. There are curtains to close off the cockpit for privacy.
Utillities: A flat panel 24” TV and DVD player resides above the cockpit. There is a furnace for those frigid nights and a roof air conditioner for those hot summer days. A 12 gallon. propane tank, a 6 gallon water heater, and ample fresh/gray/black water tanks. A 4KW gas generator and two separate house batteries can power some utilities when you are off the grid.
Exterior: There is a large 12 foot awning and an outside shower. External storage includes one large pass through storage compartment that can be accessed from the right side, the left side and also the rear. There are two smaller storage bins on each side of the RV.
Issues: You should be aware that the Truck speed control will not engage, and the truck AC works but the venting controls seem stuck. The truck battery tends to run down when left to sit for a month, but fortunately there is a house battery override switch that will get it started and moving. The TV will only pick up off the air digital channels, unfortunately the roof top antennas are old and not digital compatible. The main awning and slide topper awning are very old worn. The tires have good tread left, but are showing some signs of aging. Finally 2 years ago a tree fell across the RV, but it has been fully repaired, with a complete new top, an new AC unit, and other repairs as needed. It is structurally sound IMHO.
Seller: My wife and I hold clear title to this RV and are selling because we are over 70 and no longer have the energy or desire for this mobile life style. We had 5 good years with this RV and are ready to enjoy other travel opportunities perhaps involving airplanes and cruise ships. I welcome inquiries by mail and text preferred. If you need to talk please leave me a message, if I don't answer right away.
