The floor plan and the 2 slides offer abundant room. We had seen several others in this price range and none offered what we found in this coach. Mind you there were little issues (a drawer stuck, a bay door didn't latch correctly)but after these were touched up I can say we have a hell of a nice coach.

We looked for a coach in this price range for a couple years, we didn't like any of them until we found this Mirada 35kb, the interior layout is great and the Estate Cherry cabinets make it look more like a home. The Azdel videos and coachmen videos helped sell us on its construction. We have been very happy so far with this coach, we take local trips and have had a great experience so far. The coach drives great even with the engine noise. so far everything works as designed. We keep it parked in a garage beside the house and keep it powered up all the time. It adds about $22.00 a month to our electric bill and for the Texas Hill country that's very good. Its not a diesel pusher so its not going to be as tight or quite as they would be. The only issue we have at this time are the Captains chairs could be better, they have limited movement and it can be hard to adjust the seats.

Awesome trailer! Great neutral colors, beautiful flooring, solar ready! We love the toy hauler on the front. It also has a full shower and toilet. Love the rugged tires and that it has huge ground clearance.

Great RV, plenty of room. Bunkbeds great for storage. Two bathrooms great to have. Drives like a dream with anti sway bars added. You sit up high and have a great view with big window. Basement has good storage, can always use more space.

We love the extra large table that 2 adults can sleep on when it's converted to a bed. The overall floor plan works out well. The extra storage area just of the master bedroom provides adequate space for all of your partners shoes.
Drive's better than expected. The additional grey water storage for the kitchen sink helps whenever you are not a full hookup site.

This is a very nice motor home. It drives very well and does a good job towing a automobile trailer. It is well built and I had very few problems. The floor plan was one my wife and liked because we did not have to put the slides out to stay the night in a rest area/parking lot. The bed does not fold when the slides are closed. We have had very good experiences with this motor home.

Bought the LE (Liberty Edition) because of the interior color selection and the solid surface upgrades.

What we like:
The layout and storage are light years ahead of all other 27 foot travel trailers. — full size queen, full width closet, lots of cabinet storage. Tows well with a quarter ton with a tow package.
The interior LED lighting layout is very good. Nice Bluetooth on stereo. Pullout full length drawers under the dinette benches are great.
Blackout pull down curtains are very useable. The ‘command post’ for the power jacks is very handy.

What we don’t like:
The couch folds out into a bed. It is not that confortable. It tilts toward the outside wall about 2-3 inches. Hard to make standard sheets fit - awkward.
TV position is awkward in main cabin. - not many options so a fair compromise.
The dinette cushions won’t stay upright (too much spaces behind).
We had leaks under the sink - had to replace both 90 degree fittings.
The dinette table is cheaper than it should be and it’s difficult to raise and lower.
The storage access under the bed has no struts, so lifting it up requires some muscles.
There two gray water tanks - 33 gallons each. Not connected, so you will need to figure out how to hook up to the single sanitary hose. Hint: a standard Y fitting will not work. Wish Coachman provided a solution.

Overall, we got this camper to go on extended vacations with generally only 2 adults. This fits the bill better than any 27 foot travel trailer (length and weight).

I absolutely love the floor plan the layout and the design of this camper but the quality of the structure and integrity of it is very poor I have only only camper 4 to 5 months and things started going wrong. The sinks were leaking because they were never screwed on all the way at manufacturing being a first owner of this camper and it was brand new off the lot.

I DID NOT LIKE THE REAR BED ROOM NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO GET AROUND IT HARD TO MAKE UP THE BED FOLD DOWN COUCH IS TOO SHORT FOLD DOWN DINING IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH OR COMFORTABLE I ONLY DROVE IT 4000 MILES
HAD TO REPAIR ALL DRAWS BOTTOM WAS FALLING OUT THEY WERE ONLY PUT TOGETHER WITH SOME STAPLES & BRACING CAME LOOSE DID NOT EVEN HAVE SCREWS IN SOME OF THE BRACING THAT HOLDS THEM IN PLACE & THE LATCHES ON 4 DRAWS WERE BROKE, THE BATH ROOM FAUCET LEAKS NEEDS REPLACED, THE SHOWER BASE LEAKS & SLIDING DOOR WONT HARDLY OPEN, ALSO THE SLIDING DOOR TO THE REAR BEDROOM IS TOO SHORT FOR THE DOOR TO CATCH THE SLIDE AT THE BOTTOM. OUTSIDE ENTRY DOOR WONT SEAL & DOOR STOP FELL APART & POKED HOLE IN THE DOOR, SCREEN DOOR PANEL RATTLES NEEDS CAULKING. ALL THE STUFF ON & IN THE MICROWAVE & STOVE RATTLE. WE HAD TO TAKE THE STUFF OFF & OUT OF THE MICROWAVE WHILE TRAVELING. THE INNER STRUCTURE OF THE CABINETS IS POORLY DONE WATER VALVES ARE HARD TO GET TO .I MADE MOST OF THE REPAIRS MY SELF. OVER ALL I GIVE COACHMAN A POOR GRADE, YOU CAN TELL THEY DON'T HAVE A HIGH STANDARD OF QUALITY CONTROL!! THE FORD F.450 V.10 PREFORMED VERY WELL PLENTY OF POWER. OVER ALL I WILL GIVE THEM 3 STAR RATING

Everything we wanted, lite weight towes great, we are very happy with it. The quality is very good. Our other trailer by another manufacture was poor 1to 10 I would rate it 1 !! We had it back to the dealer 8 times.. The Apex we have not had any issues so far, we used it all summer, we had it since June.

This is the Freedom Express Select (cheaper version of the model).

Likes: tows fantastic! increased axle spacing really helps with tracking and control during windy conditions. Fit and finish all over is great. All appliances worked flawlessly for both dry camping and wet camping. Septic flush worked really well though I used the Rhino septic pipe, fittings, flush elbow, etc. stores in bumper. Lighting is good and plentiful inside and in outside rear storage. Also, love the storage everywhere - inside and out.

Dislikes: Seat back cushions do not make a uniform substrate for use as a bed due to the non-symmetrical design. We found buying an inflatable Coleman bed worked great on top of the cushions.
We don't appreciate the imitation wood pattern paper glued to the luan panels - marrs easily and can actually tear due to a bad scratch or ding. Frames are solid wood and pocket screwed but I doubt the panels will hide wear. Also, the toilet bowl is very, very small! Enough room to have put a larger bowl. The ledge in the bathroom makes no sense but not a problem - just odd 'shelf' with no real use. Though storage everywhere is plentiful, you will need to customize for shelves and dividers or use tote bins as doors don't cover all storage areas.
Finally, the white LEDs under the awning is stupid - yes - stupid. Even the cheapest competitors use the remote controlled multi-colored awning lights. White attracts bugs whereas amber or amber-red doesn't.

Overall, for $22K we feel this is a great buy and would/will recommend this model and brand. Very happy thus far with our purchase!

We bought this unit brand new this year. Overall quality is outstanding. The Aluminum frame with Azdel vacuum bonded walls will not delaminate and are stronger and have better insulation value. Whomever said the wood framing on their Apex has been compromised due to staples backing out doesn't know what they're talking about... no wood or staples in these walls. There were some issues with wood trim coming loose because the factory pin nailer shot the pins all the way through the trim piece. I simply glued the trim back on with wood glue and it will stay on forever. Great floor plan, great towability, quality construction. Love this camper!

I just purchased my RV, the dealership and all personnel were fantastic. But the quality control of the unit left much to be desired, I hope things work out, and I will give them a chance to be honorable.
As far as the unit, the lighting switches and operation are not the best, you don't have a
master control from the drivers seat.

No undercoating for rust prevention.

The mileage is 12.4 @ 62 mph and 2250 rpm
maybe up to 14 @ 55 mph and 2000 rpm.
Great get up and go, almost racing quality.

They should offer a house battery upgrade to 2, 6 volt golf cart batteries.

The manufacturing process and QC shows a lack of attention to detail, too numerous examples to write.

Mercedes could have had additional fuel capacity and Coachman could have added an additional tank behind the spare tire and or in place of the spare tire. Additional strengthening of the cargo bins would also improve the quality of the unit.

Te use the Jensen VX4022 audio video, for some unknown reason, they choose not to place the bluetooth microphone in the designated place by the overhead console and light, rather a cheap plastic mount is glued by the steering wheel and amplifies road and cabin noise.
Good luck trying to sync your cellphone, the secret sync code is 5309, but no one will tell you or knows. No instruction manual was presented, but you can search on line and download it. My AM radio did not pick up any stations, I wonder if the antenna is connected or if there is an antenna, again poor QC.

Insufficient USB ports for charging in the cab area, actually, there are none, except 1 in the radio. If they placed a few USB and 12 volt plugs in the various compartments on the dash, it would be fantastic keep the clutter down in the cab.

BUYER BEWARE - This was our first coach, and we have learned a lot. We will NEVER purchase another Coachmen - Forest River product. The dealership we purchased it from has done everything they can to fix the problems that we have incurred. For example: microwave wires were not connected properly, water leaked from access panel becasue the fittings were not tight, the refrigerator had a pinched propane line, fresh water gauge was not working, and the steps did not have a magnet. These were just a few of the problems.
Lastly - the back wall of our coach had not been screwed in and it was coming apart. You could literally see the asphalt between the wall and the floor. The two individuals we dealt with at Coachmen were contaced by us and our dealership. Unfortunatley - they felt that our problems fell outside of what they were responsible for. All of the problems we have had are poor workmanship and quality control issues. I commend our dealership for taking care of us - they have taken responsibility when Coachmen would not.

There are several what I consider design flaws in this model. 1. No pantry only drawers, 2. bath room door is hung back words if wood door between living and bath/bedroom is closed you can't get in bathroom. 3. TV is placed in front of window which the TV manufacturer says should not be done. 4. huge dinette longer than 6' restricts sofa to less than 5'. 5. back bumper does cover the full width of RV. 6. backup camera shows ground 5' behind can't see 2-3 ' behind; up so high very difficult to clean. 7.can not see side cameras from drivers seat reflection from daylight and view does not show what is directly to side at back. 8. Can't get owners manual for Coachman, it is a Forest River manual and this was after contacting Coachman directly by the salesman.

Built with styrofoam, and particle board, sound penetration is horrific. most RV camps are very close to major highways and sometimes sounds like 18 wheelers are right next to rig.

Bought Coachman because of reputation, but even with delivery from IL to Texas, the Coachman driver did not recognize that the back Air Suspension was broken. Because of the uncontrolled bouncing of back end the steel rod of the closet bent but it is my fault cause I had to many clothes hanging on it

After months of research, weighing out pros and cons, needs and wants, and deciding on the best quality for the cost, our family chose the Apex Ultra-lite and have absolutely enjoyed this spacious floor-plan with elegant, upscale interior and luxurious comfort. Finally a brand with design intelligence. (Why don't most RV Brands make better interior selections, yikes! The colors, patterns, decor, et cetera are so outdated for most brands.) We are happy campers indeed and have had no issues, besides wallpaper bubbling in some spots which was a quick fix. It's long, but easy to tow to the dunes or camping without even having a diesel truck. If you are reading reviews, like I did before this purchase, and you are trying to decide...DO IT! We love this classy big lite rig for the whole family!

Purchased a new 2017 Legacy Edition 243rbs and have had nothing but problems. The pushout neutral wire shorted out after 1 use the pushout wouldn't work and one of the jacks broke only after one use. The manual opener for the pushout wasn't attached and a hole in the bottom cover had to be cut out to fix. On the second trip I went to take my rubber boots out from under the sink and it was full of water. The hot water tap was leaking and continues to do so. The caulking all around the shower base was not adhered between the glass and base and whenever we showered the water poured over the floor...had to be totally re-caulked. Now the holding tank drips outside for about 24 hours after filling. We wondered why we ran out of water so quickly. We thought we were buying a quality trailer. Superficially it looks good however the construction is substandard for a brand new trailer. This is definitely a lemon that continues to have problems.

Fuel economy advertised at 15 to 18 mpg. Drove for 4000 miles. Never got more than 12.5 mpg. Tried speed for long haul was 65 mph. Plenty of power. The Mercedes cab was a completely stripped down variety the sales person failed to mention that fact. Fuel capacity requires you to stop every 270 miles. Very inconvenient for long travel distances.

Just over 7000 miles. Roughly 13 miles to the gallon. 250 miles per tank. Hard-to-find diesel in a crunch. Gas light comes on with 6 gallons of fuel left. Scary. Love the layout. Not the best construction. Very cheaply built. Staples and glue could have been placed better. I've had to caulk along several places. Need to reseal some outside compartments and around wheel well. On the interstate, wind can blow the vehicle all over the road. Not the happiest with the dealership. Get things fixed first, but I would purchase this prism again.

Bought from dealer in Iowa. Plenty of power and torque on hills etc., 14 mpg best yet with 7,000 miles mostly highway. Chassis makes awful cracking noises and snapping sounds during slow speed travel over parking lot entrance curbs/ramps. Dealer has not been helpful in rectifying. Construction is unimpressive and low in quality. Bed is very comfortable with pillow top mattress, DVD player and main TV are junk. Nice awning and slide out. Overall I would give it a 5 out of 10. I completely agree with the prior reviews. I wish I had found this website before I purchased my unit in March 2017. It has been in the shop more than it has been on the road. Great floor plan but the fit and finish work absolutely sucks. Misaligned cabinet doors; slides failure to deploy correctly; completely stupid design features like black water tank discharge design; coach fuse box impossible to get too; refrigerator runs all the time consuming rediculous amounts of house power; stupid location of inverter/power readout. Love the floor plan. That's about it. Dealer has acknowledged the manufacturing process is crap. give me back my 2000 Winnebago Adventurer

Love the floor plan, that's about the only good thing I can say about this coach. This is the 3rd time it's been in the shop. It has been in for 72 days. The truck AC doesn't work, ice maker pours water, has an electrical problem that has blown out the TV's, fireplace, inverter, and who knows what else. Storage unit has pulled away from side of coach, awning has pulled away from roller and it's hard to keep on the road. You would think after 72 days they would have at least gotten the fridge fixed. Nope, and it does no good to contact Forest River. Run away from Forest River products.

WE just returned home for the 4th time we bought a 2016 Mirada BH the floor plan is great. The quality of this motorhome is terrible. We have had this this unit in the shop 3 times for the same thing The lights on the front flicker off and on. The electrical system is not connected so that it recharges the battery that runs the slides in and out. There is no memory chip so that the overhead bunk bed does not have to be reprogrammed every time we use it. The refrigerator doors are not made to travel in an RV and so they fly open all the time. The screw thing they gave us wore out and so it is a constant problem. Run away from this rig find something else.

We bought ours new at MHSRV. 2016 model. This is our first class A and we wanted to get something that we might keep a while without the urge to upgrade right away. It's just the two of us with a couple pets. We are very happy w it. It's got most of the options like navigation, in motion satellite ( we use DIRECTV) , washer dryer stack, etc. It performs well and we tow a Jeep Patriot. We like the two distinct ares that are created w the "L" shaped seating area. Gives us a dining and living area "feel". The 37 foot length allows a comfortable fit at RV campsites. After 15 months, we are glad we picked this model and have no desire to go bigger!. We had a couple minor issues that were easily fixed under warranty.

This was our first RV my wife and I bought it as a starter and go full time in it. After driving it off the lot and setting up at our house for the first time the water pump stopped working. we took it back and got that fixed got it home ad set it up and again the water pump would not work there was a short some where in the coach. So we learned that we could only live at water hookup sites. Next every time we moved the coach got off shore power and then moved to a new site and plugged back in at least 4 fuzes had to be replaced. As another stated windows only open 4 inches. The last straw was the loss of furnace Just when the temp drops we lose heat. There have been so many problem with this coach I would not recommend it to anyone. cabin light on the slide will not work, the rear cable and guard for the living room slide will not stay on, Hot water heater only gets Luke warm even with both the electric and gas turned on never had a hot shower in 3 months of ownership. both slides stop in the middle of movement you have to reverse the direction your moving weather in or out and then restart the slide. Storage light have not gone out and no way to get them to turn back on. There is no way that we could dry camp with this coach with no water pump. I would never recommend this coach to anyone the workmanship is VERY crude you can see where the builders used wood putty over the wall paper to cover up the finishing nail holes. Walls are so flimsy you might fall through if you accidentally lean on them. Nate from Coachman was very good in working with us however there is nothing that can be done we bought this to live in it full time and we can't, how can we if it is in the shop for electrical repairs where are we suppose to live?

I purchased the Mirada in February of 2017. Where as we have only taken a couple short trips, we are living in it since then and about to hit the open road!

Love the floor plan but it is a little tight when the pop-outs are brought in but who needs the back of the coach when you are rolling? Like the 2 bathrooms and I was happy to find out it has a heated basement when the propane is going upstairs!

This is my 3rd Class A since 1993. This 2016 Coachman drives like a car! A nice car as it is very smooth with the Ford V10 and excellent suspension. Corners very well.

I saw the other review and I feel for that guy. I\'ve only had this since November of last year but we take it out allot and so far no major issues as of yet. I love this coach and so does my family. Only suggestion for the manufacture if they even check these forums is to make the kitchen table bed bigger so an average adult can sleep there. Other than that we LOVE this coach!

Very spacious especially with kids! Three kids two adults still have room . A baby pack and play fits great under slide out in bunkhouse bunk. We also had room for a electric baby swing! One of the best bangs for your buck! Great family camper! Pull with a Ram2500 diesel and the weight of the camper is balanced well and the camper does not tell the diesel anything. Beautiful full paint and colors. For the money numerous options Come with it! Impressed with HVAC for the length of unit and one HVAC unit on board. Very pleased recommend to anyone especially with kids!!

I think it has great amenities and easy handling on the road! The cameras make towing easy. It has some great features but could use a bit more storage in the kitchen area. In hindsight I would prefer another storage area where the fireplace sits! It is however a great motor home.

This RV is the most comfortable RV that we have owned. We do a lot of camping and travel several months out of the year. The floor is easy to take care of. The bathroom has plenty of room. The appliances are first rate and the dual control air conditioners are very convenient.
A con would be that the air conditioners could be a bit quieter.
Also had to rebuild the closet inside rod. The factory put very thin rods in the closet for your cloths.

I like that it has a very large rear bathroom, which is great for giving you lots of room for drying off or changing. I also like that it has 2 slideouts that make the main interior living space feel large. What I dislike is that the bedroom is very small - there's barely enough room to walk around the end of the bed. The closets on either side of the bed have a sharp pointy end on them which I've managed to bang into a couple of times in my sleep with my knee. There is absolutely no airflow in this trailer. There are only 2 windows in the main living space and they are both on the non-awning side of the camper. There are 2 windows in the bedroom but the one window on the awning side of the camper is so small that you barely have any air coming in at all, and when the door outside is propped open, the window is almost completely blocked by that door. The bathroom doesn't have any windows - only a single small ceiling vent with fan. Whoever paid the people who created this layout should be fired. The only way there is any airflow is if there's a stiff breeze on the door side, and windows are open in the main living area. You have to either have the air conditioning on all of the time for air flow, or have fans running. Also, having only 2 windows only on one side of the trailer makes the main living area kind of dark. There needs to be a skylight in this area. The only way you can see outside under the awning is to have the door propped open (cause there's no windows on that side of the trailer). The kitchen is okay and functionable. The pull out loveseat is okay, except that it's on the slideout so when you open the loveseat to sleep on it, the foot of the bed is lower than the head because the foot of the bed is not on the slide out. I have to use a cut 2x4 on each leg at the foot of the bed to bring it up to the height of the head. Other than these issues, it's a nice camper.

Can't give a full review. We had ours for 3 months and then totaled it due to hail damage. Bought used at a fair price. Single AC needed some help getting to master bedroom. Back bunkroom was compact but we knew that. I have towed most any type of trailer. I have not had a bumper pull trailer pull this well. Easy to back up etc. Enjoyed it while we had it. Seriously considering going back to Coachmen on our 3rd one. The replacement for this catalina has been a failure.

The designers need to live in these before they commit to a floorpan. Only 1 ceiling fan, in bathroom. No windows over waist high open. No air circulation unless the A/C or fan is on and just the fan doesn't really help. If there is a breeze outside there is no way to get the air to flow into/through the camper. No way to stabilize the camper. Every step made is felt by anyone else in the camper.

We purchased our trailer one year ago and have had three months of camping in it. We like the layout. It offers a lot of cabinet and wardrobe space compared to many models we looked at. It tows well and looks nice. On our first trip the awning did not retract. Had to play with the switch to get it to work and kept being a problem. Second trip out the refrigerator could not keep up with the heat. This also has been a recurring problem. The dealer has looked at both issues on multiple occasions and have not been able to correct them. The fold out couch has a 3" difference from one cushion to another when opened making it only good for small kids to sleep on. We have had a leak in the coach and they were able to repair it. We had the plumbing under the kitchen sink spring a leak. We have had the furnace fail on our last trip this spring. Some other small issues such as loose panels and sharp edges on the bed platform.
Overall: We like the idea. This trailer is laid out for our camping experience, but find the constant problems make it not worth the $26,000.00 price tag. I would not recommend this manufacturer to anyone.

Over 120 problems & we're still seeking their high standards in camping pleasure. We'll have to let you know if they replace or refund. We feel the wood is compromised beyond reasonable repair. The staples do not hold, & it might possibly be ALL due to a flimsy frame. They have been very concerned. Sometimes a refund is the only answer.

Over all review for this brand/model quality was excellent with being built well from what I've experienced. But I give credit to my dealership from where I purchased. From the knowledgeable friendly staff, that took the time to help us choose & answer questions and not push us into buying something we didn't need or want helped us make our decision. We've been camping very frequently in our TT for all of the summer in 2016 with this make & model#. I'd say to anyone who might ask me about my camper to try Forest River's COACHMEN APEX 250RLS Ultra Light out. BUT find a very well knowledgeable dealership before purchasing. This dealership really goes over , inspecting the campers well before they are put out on the lot before there sold. So many times I've read reviews on people how they don't do there homework on a dealership/camper shopping but going on brand name alone can not cut it with me. All I'm saying is make sure you're dealership takes care of you & is by far the key ingredient who does what they say & does what's best for the purchaser!!! That will keep'em coming back in future sales, building a trusting relationship for generations to come. COUNTRY ROADS RV CENTER LEXINGTON,N.C.

I bought the RV new and used it to take my two kids on trip through the Northwest states and into Canada. It was perfect! Easy to drive - like a car but better visibility. We had loads of room and everything we needed for food, warmth and comfort. Kids loved sleeping in while I headed out on the road. No need to stop for food or potty when they got up! There were a few warranty items I discovered on the trip and all were quickly and completely addressed by the dealer with the support of Coachmen.

I will start with some things not acceptable to me. The water pump is mounted just below the shower floor. Extremely noisy and at night when all is quiet will rock you out of bed when the bathroom is used.seems like Coachman built this around the pump pump. Very tight install and a extream pain to work on.
I relocated the pump to a space under the coach behind the drivers seat. The work was worth it. Very quiet now.
No trouble with Mercedes power. 15-16 MPG. Lots of power and don't mind stopping at a gas station.

After purchasing the RV New near Dallas TX I drove it back to Portland Oregon. The trip was wonderful. This is my first RV so I was uncertain about many thihgs having to do with rv'ing.
This rv drives beautifully. It has tons of power for passing and mountains. The engine is quiet and never gave off any black diesel smoke when pushed. I get 15mpg at 55mph. We bought the Seta mattress and it is very comfortable. We also got the optional recliners (2) in place of the U shaped dinette. They are very nice. With a convection microwave and a gas range complete with an oven, we have everything to eat quickly or cook gourmet. I did lots of research before buying. I wanted a two person getaway that was easy to use and maintain. This rv is just what I was looking for.

This is a SECOND UPDATE to our October reviews of our 2016 Freelander 20CB Micro.

Our 20CB continues to do well. All appliances and other mechanicals function as they should.

I want to repeat, that at the Coachmen factory, all of our warranty problems were quickly and professionally taken care of. A+!

I continue to make common sense improvements/modifications (some I think the factory should have considered) to make the motorhome function better and be more livable, at least for our needs.

With the 2.7 gas V6 and a tale wind, on flat ground, at a steady 56 MPH, we've seen 14.7 MPG. Overall, we get close to 12 MPG.

Overall we are PLEASED.

On a final note: if you happen to be considering purchasing your RV in MN., considering the SAD after sale warranty experience we encountered, all we can say is: BUYER BEWARE. LOOK around the facility. Neat? Clean? That first impression is only the beginning of the incompetence you could encounter. Never again for us at this facility, no matter how good the deal.

This is an UPDATE to my review of October 4th of our Freelander 20CB Micro.

Through direct communications with Coachmen, (we lost all confidence in our selling dealer being able to do anything right or even wanting to), we made plans to bring the RV to their factory for warranty service.

The experience at Coachmen was very positive. Everyone there was friendly, courteous, and accommodating.

Coachmen got my all problems solved in less than a day.

The way I see it: if your dealer is lazy or incompetent the only alternative is going to the manufacturer for correctly done warranty work.

PS: the driveability of the Ford Transit 350HD I find to be excellent. The V6 has plenty of power and it's no problem getting 14MPG when driven between 55 and 60MPH.

2016 Coachmen Freelander 20CB Micro. A nice RV except for:

I discovered, after a few weeks of ownership, that this motorhome's PLUMBING has a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW.

The water pump is inaccessible as it is hidden away under the shower, or it's proximity, as evidenced by where the pump's sound is emanating from and by various photos I took trying to find it.

Accessibility to an RV water pump is crucial for winterization, or for future pump replacement.

The pump cannot be seen even after removing various panels, from the direction of Coachmen Service & Warranty Department, and taking photos to prove my claim. Not a glimpse of the pump can be seen in any photo of the underlying guts of the motor home.

After seeing my submitted photos and, reviewing a blueprint or schematic, Coachmen's Warranty and Service Department admitted that the plumbing design has been corrected/changed in later build dates to remedy the lack of accessibility. Since then, Warranty and Service does not communicate with me. Something STINKS!

How could their engineering department have incorrectly designed the plumbing system in the first place?

Where does that leave the consumer? We're left with what I think was a "seconds" product foisted upon the dealer and the dealer, knowing or unknowingly, unloaded this RV upon the public meaning me. No wonder the dealer's price was the best anywhere in the USA. A few thousand less than any other dealer. Something STINKS here too.

It's the dealer's problem and I WILL get my money back or an even trade for a correctly built 20CB Micro.

Coachmen get an F- grade, and the dealer ain't too far behind.

Bought new in Nov of 2015 have taken about 8 trips of more than 5 days each. No boondocking yet, however continue to work toward enhancing the coach for that purpose. Pulled with a 2004 Jeep Liberty for the first year and it actually surprised us by handling the trailer well despite being a bit too underpowered for hills and more than 60 on the highway. Anywho, towing with a 2017 Toyota Tundra 5.7L now and its like there's nothing behind us.

Ok, so first I will say that at around $10,000 for this coach, you can't expect highest level build quality, yet despite this it's fairly well put together. This is our first coach, so we took a year to decide what we wanted to get and this was the end result. A lot for the money when compared to other trailers in this class/price range.

_______________________________________________
THE GOOD:

13,500 BTU A/C is a MONSTER. During 100+ degree days, still kept the coach at a nice 72 degrees when on full blast.

Floorplan is thoughtfully designed for the space.

Bottom bunk folds up for more storage.

Lots of storage cabinets

Lots of outlets

Respectable water tank sizes / fresh, gray and black

Space for mounting a swivel mount for TV on side of cabinet

Space under top cabinets for DVD mounting without giving up vertical space underneath

Counter space in general is limited, but for this size of trailer meets expectations

Bed lifts up for interior storage access of pass-thru

Pass-thru offers generous storage space

Rear exterior "hobbit door" is very handy for access to under bunk storage.. a real PLUS

Rear bumper supports spare tire as well as storage tray with hitch receiver nicely

Like the fact that it has a full bed, a dinette that collapses to make a single, plus the two bunks. You can sleep 5 in this thing if you had to although not recommended.. this ain't no 5th wheeler, boy!

Wheels and tires are nice. Rims are like those mag wheels from back in the day and tires are 15", not 13" which is nice.

Hauls well. I've been in 65 MPH gusts and she stays right where she is (with WDH and SC of course)
_______________________________________________

THE "MEH"

Fit and finish is nothing to get excited about but for this price range top quality truly cannot be expected

Windows only slide left or right which means you only get one side of the window that opens to the air outside, should have made them outward tilting to allow for more ventilation like in other coaches.. wouldn't have cost any more money.. BASICS, BRO!

Floor creaks in some places

Awning is manually operated; screws can fall out of brackets occasionally and are not well designed.

Had to clear-caulk the shower surround at the tub joints separations to seal from potential water absorption

Takes two 1800 R/W generators to run the A/C even after start up.

Limited options for inverter and supplemental outlet placement without running cable across the floor and up a wall. Limited to area under bed in front and pass-thru space is diminished as a result.

Bathroom vent could have been more substantial.. it's like this tiny 4" fan attached to a motor and exposed.. vent area opens to 75 degree angle so at least that, but air movement is a joke. Only fan in the coach, so. SAD!

Build quality means more maintenance on small things like loose or poorly fitted screws

Rubber roof requires higher maintenance with clear caulking seal requirement and regular scrubbing clean of black-residue build up that happens over time.

Screw on rear jack under-carriage mounting surface broke within 2 months despite only dropping jack a handful of times prior.

_________________________________________________
THE BAD:

Positioning of the LP line means that you have to remove and somehow re-position in order to allow space for a second battery. I have not done this, but it looks like a real pain in the ass and poorly designed since there is clearly more room for two batteries to be kept next to each other without the LP line placed where it is. LAZY! SAD!

Only room for ONE LP tank as positioning two side by side is not possible how designed. Coach was clearly not made to carry more than one based on the bracket placement and location behind the crank. At least a 30 gallon can fit in the same footprint as a 20, but still would have been nice to have the option of TWO LP tanks, but alas NOT TO BE WITHOUT WELDING/BRACKET MODIFICATION.

Interior stereo speakers are crap and build quality limitations mean? You guessed it, a required upgrade and as a plus (minus) one speaker was cutting in and out the day we bought it due to as as yet unidentified short somewhere in the speaker wire.. SAD!
_________________________________________________

FINAL WORD:

Coach is a 8/10 for me and a 9/10 overall for bang for your buck in my opinion. I only deduct one point on my own experience due to extensive expectations, but that's just me.

For a first time owner coach this is a great introduction that will serve your "small" family or just a couple well. It tows well, is light at only 2800lbs. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway and has ample storage, access and is a good deal. NEVER PAY MORE THAN $10,550 for this coach. I worked for a year to get a deal I wanted and this is the price I paid. Don't let them try and get you for any more than that. Also, don't let a dealer convince you that ANY trailer is "mini-van" towable.. it's horsesh**. You need a half-ton to tow this comfortably and although I towed with a SWB Jeep Liberty for a year, I would NOT recommend it due to the limitations of the 210HP engine which meant more transmission strain on hills and headwinds and certainly a loss of usable power to pull. I never got above 63 with the pedal all the way down on a flat straight-away. Sure if your vehicle is rated at 3,500 or even 5,000lbs. you COULD tow it, but remember just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.

We have owned a 2016 CC 17BH since November of 2015. After 15 months we've taken 4 trips; the first was 1800 miles round trip. So far it's been a great value since we got it for $10,000 brand new including TTL. Like other owners, I can attest to the build quality leaving something to be desired. The finishing looks rushed and storage area under the main bed are not "finished out" as you might expect and in a way I can't imagine how much more time it would have taken to ensure that screws were run straight and the quality control is certainly something that could be improved. One interior speaker seems to have been hastily installed and I had to take it out and adjust the connection in order to ensure it no longer cut in and out.. We haven't experienced any major functionality issues with plumbing or electrical barring a blown fuse in the battery connection once a year ago, but the thing is for the price I have made an effort to start learning as much as I can about maintenance and repair on travel trailers.. Lots of WD-40 and careful attention to joints and seals. Wash the rubber roof every 3 months and take care of it like it's your baby.. I understand that these coaches are put together very quickly and may lack the higher level finishing of a Mini Winnie or other, more expensive coaches but we're talking about half the price of a Mini Winnie also.. give and take in many respects. My feelings are that this is an exceptional value for a first time camper for a small family (4 or less) on a budget that has decided to make the commitment of a TT purchase and have at least a 3,500 lb. towing capacity vehicle.. that particular point being said, I would NOT recommend towing with anything less than a half-ton truck for safety-sake. Short wheel base (SWB) vehicles are not as capable at maintaining positive control even with a WD hitch.. lack of adequate HP and torque will also result in very slow highway speeds and heavy load on the transmission especially in high head winds. Even with it's 2,800+ dry weight make sure if you go this route you have at least a 300HP vehicle..

Finally, let me say that in the world of TT's you'll always get more value if you take ownership of the maintenance and upkeep. The CC 17BH might be low-end, but the floor plan is well thought out and there are some nice features that are well and above the new Cadet series that Coachmen is pushing these days..

We purchased the Pathfinder in Texas and drove it back to Alaska. It is a dream to drive and the bigger 400hp Cummins made easy work of the many grades and passes. Once both living room slides are out you can't believe the size of the room. The back bath is as roomy as some hotel/motel rooms. We had a problem with the small awning over the door. Once back in Alaska Forest River authorized a full replacement with no questions asked. The coach is not as fancy as some of the more expensive coaches, however, it is well built, extremely comfortable, easy to drive and is very very nice.

The hitch fell off when we were traveling towing a trailer of motorcycles, the shower door fell off, the steps didn't work, the front window shade stopped working. This trailer has been trouble free, works great if you have kids or grandkids or take another couple, they have the bunk selection for privacy, only con, to winterize you have to remove a drawer and reach in to bypass hot water heater, turn valve to suction hose, bring hose out of drawer and put in gallon jug of RV anti freeze, not a real big issue, just inconvenient.

Excellent floor plan, very nice quality. RV drives excellent I only wish the turning radius was little better. Ford nor Coachmen put very much effort into cabin quitness so I had a sound company do that for me since I moved from a diesel pusher to this class C the engine and road noise was an issue for me. The cruise control is way too aggressive and Ford knows this but they don't seem to be doing anything about it but they say the transmission is a "smart" transmission so with non aggressive driving thats supposed to be improved... jury still out on that.
That is the only issues- overall its a fantastic RV that I would highly recommend. In my opinion nothing comes close to overall floor plan and quality for the price.

We have spent much of the last two summers travelling in the Leprechaun putting on over 22000 miles. As expected we had some issues. The only one that needed immediate repair by a Technician was the furnace. Had a couple of cold nights. Overall it has performed very well and been very livable. Being a \"C\" and at 33\' we have been able to fit everywhere we attempted. Even the Alaska Hwy didn\'t beat us. Warranty work has been trying... mostly due to the long wait to get repairs started then the wait for approval. Overall no big complaints with Coachmen or the coach.

We love our Chapparral! It's comfotable ans roomy, has lots of storage. Tows like a dream. It truly is like having our house on wheels. We looked at all kimds of cmaper and fifth wheels before we bought our Chapparral, none of them had the workmanship or family oriented layouts like the Chapparral. We wouldn't own any other brand of camper!

We have put 15000 miles on it, no problems at all. Quality is ok,this is my third RV and it's as good or better than the others. The Winnebago is better quality and has a better floorplan,( the bathroom is way bigger with two doors),but its 30k more.Being a architect, there are thing I would have done different.Like why is the fridge in the bedroom?,should be next to the sofa and the shower should be where the fridge is, with dual purpose doors to seal of the back. And using Table is akward. But everything else works well.

Good size vehicle and drives very well. Also, the construction quality is good. Factory installed slide toppers on the two slide-outs would have been nice to have when purchased. I had the toppers installed by the RV dealer to protect the top of the slide-outs and keep rain water and leaves from getting inside the RV when the slide-outs are retracted.

This was our first RV we purchase and we loved how much floor space we had inside. It sleeps 7 without putting the table down whiched I loved getting up in the morning and sitting inside with my coffee at the dinner table. My husband loved the fact everything was Powered with power tongue jack along with the AC in summer and the furnace for our fall trips. Anyone with a family with kids would love this RV for all the beds and room it provides. I can honestly say there was nothing we did not like.
I am sad to say my husband suddenly passed away of a heart attack. That is the only reason I am selling my RV.

We purchased a 2015 leprechaun in early 2014...here's my honest opinion of this unit. overall it really has been a decent RV for us. We have 35,000 miles-on it. It came with a 350 ford chassis ... be advised if you plan to tow anything make sure you go with the 450 chasis! The fit and finish inside and out is Not Good but everything has worked. The ford 350 has been bullet proof. Never let's us down. We service this RV regularly and it has never had a roof or window leak.Basic repairs we have had to do are replacing door and shower latches, fix cabinet glass. Do understand it is a Very Loud RV with little to no sound proofing in the cab. Also understand this C class doesn't have a "smooth" ride. The only item we have had to replace of any significance was the bed.It had zero support and had to go.But... we have been to both coast's with it (4) times and use it to travel all over the Midwest to watch our daughter play lacrosse! Its not a luxury RV but it's never left us on the side of the road!

I have been driving almost along 37000 miles in this rv because my wife feels it is too high so she drove about 2000 mi in total. I am very happy with this RV because it provides enough comfort to sleep, to shower, and to drive for most of the roads of the USA and Canada. The efficiency of the turbo diesel engine is over 16 MPG. I did not like its dinette and I modified from curved sofa to straight sofa and two captain chairs. I upgraded its original antenna to the King brand that no longer I have to be worry about to stretching and compressing. I didn't like its Jensen Stereo, its TV and its Digital DVD and I upgraded installing a Pioneer AVIC 8100NEX, an Smart Samsung TV, a Blue Ray, etc in order that we could have everything needed for happy driving and camping. Additionally I upgraded its bumper-without fog lights with a brand new original Mercedes Sprinter Bumper that is coming with the whole for new fog lights. I upgraded this RV with flexible 140 Watts Solar Panel so I no longer have to plug the home electrical source and make me saving in my electrical home bill.

We have had nothing but problems with this camper trailer. The slide had to be fixed immediately after we purchased it. Then the wiring was messed up so we lost power to the bathroom, hall, and outside. We then had to send it back to the manufacturer because of "bubbles" on BOTH outside walls. They discovered that the slide was still not right and had been leaking, so it too had to be replaced. All of this happened within a couple months of owning the camper!

We have owned our Clipper for about six months and love, love, love it. We have put about 6000 miles on it and it is very easy to pull and maneuver. We cannot believe how much storage it has for the size, and we looked at a lot of campers before buying this one. My Dodge Ram 1500 has no trouble pulling it. I did put a sway bar on it to pull it since it only has one axle but it works great. After visiting a lot of mountains and backwoods places, we are really glad we went with this one instead of something bigger. It has everything we need for two people.

For a small trailer one gets a lot of bang for their bucks. Perhaps small for 2 unless they are "in love" but for a single.....#1. Bath is a little tight, bed cushions need a little help with a cut memory foam for added comfort. Easy to tow with my 2015 Ram 1500 and easy to get around. I replaced the tongue hitch with a Quickbite. Factory tongue hitch was out of round and difficult to unhitch. I have had Coleman, Puma, and other brands. The Clipper is a better buy. It is not too small, nor too big ... and it's like driving a large van! Very easy ride, and will go almost anywhere!!

The exterior camp kitchen, fridge and entertainment center are great for outdoor living!!

We wanted to downsize from our 36' 5th wheel to something smaller and easy to handle. We think we got the lemon. We have had our 28'2014 Coachman Leprechaun just one year now and have had many things go wrong. It has a Chevrolet chassis, so that said these were our problems. Keep in mind it was brand new and we have only put some 5,000 miles on it. We had to have the pitman arm replaced, the dealership found excess play. The front end and steering wheel shook so bad we were afraid to drive it any further, so had it towed the 200+miles to the closes dealership that had the equipment to service our RV. We also did not have any left turn signal or any brake lights. This turned out to be a fuse problem. The A/C and heater didn't work properly due to poor terminal tension on the control circuit. After the pitman arm was replaced we had to have the front end aligned. Still had slight shaking in the front end.Found the front rotors, driver side and passenger side had excessive runout. Machined front rotors, buffed pads. Now we have discovered that the brake peddle does not come up all the way so we have to lift it with our toe. Also there is a problem with the cruise control, it does not always work, and as we were coming into our campground the RV started to downshift for no apparent reason. We will have to have all that addressed when we reach our next destination. We are fulltimers and this has been a little stressful. This was Not what we had in mind when we downsized. Thank goodness all of this has been covered under warranty. Now for the inside of the RV. We had to have the TV in the bedroom replaced 3 times, it just would not work. Camping World finally discovered it was a wiring problem. We seem to have a propane leak we think, we are smelling it pretty strong outside the RV. The light switch in the refrigerator is not working. We have replaced the bulb and it still does not work. The fantastic fan in the overhead area does not work (just found that). Now we will be looking for the nearest Camping World or RV repair that will honor warranty. What a pain all of this has been. We have gotten comfortable in our small space and we enjoy the ease of getting into our sites and setting it up. If it were not for the mechanical problems it would be great.

This is my 4th travel trailer and the worse one I have ever owned, the living layout is awful, there are no drawers or counter space in the kitchen, there are no hinges to hold the cupboard cabinets up when in use, window latches are very cheap, stabilization is horrible, you can feel every step when someone is walking. Unless you are a child you cannot sit behind the table at the dinette and the pull out sofa bed is not made for any one taller than 5 foot. I am now looking at new trailers.

This is our 1st RV and could not be more pleased. Easy to drive, can take it almost anywhere and park it in most spaces. The queen bed is great considering we have had 3 dogs along sometimes. The 2 slides provide enough space for the 2 of us to spread out when we want to do so. The outside video, awning and built-in camping table has made tail gating a lot of fun. By adding an internet hotspot we are able to conduct our small vacation rental business while on the road. We have own this rig for 18 months putting 38,000 miles on it and have had no issues except learning how better to take advantage of its features and space. This is a very fun vehicle to drive and the 15+ mpg average is awesome.

First and foremost, the dealer's treatment of me has been/was atrocious! They lost the Certificates of Origin/Titles and sent them to the wrong place, so I lost use of a brand-new RV, due to not being able to license/register it - from Jan.-July! Couldn't drive it! Next, less than 30 days after picking it up, things starting breaking or actually, of even greater concern, the total lack of Forest River (not really Coachmen ANYMORE!) workmanship shone thru. The biggest thing was that they must have "forgotten" to seal the floorboards up under or the wheel-well areas and every time I would drive thru a puddle, rain water would literally run all the way up to the front doors. The factory service staff is a real pain to deal with, too. Everything has to be justified and half the time, the "service" center they refer me to, such as when I drove to Vegas, wouldn't honor the commitment! I would never allow a friend of mine to buy a Forest River OR Coachmen (FR) RV! Total POSs and even worse are the treatments by dealers and the factory! Oh and one more thing, the materials are very cheap and not durable! AVOID FOREST RIVER & COACHMEN!

My wife and I had ours for 6 months. Great camper for the price. Pulls great. How ever, the main drains to me set to low to the ground so if your backing up to your driveway and you have a curb to run over you could scratch the drains or damage them. Being a single axle it bounces and moves easy when you run over a curb. I was very disappointed when I found out that there is no 1/4 in plywood for strength on the outside of the camper were the framing was. Just the wood frame and the black paper then the aluminum paneling. Cheaply mad. But for the size best layout and more standard options than any camper for that size and price. We had it for 6 months and now we're trading it in for a rockwood mini lite. Build quality I'd give it a 2 out of 10. Storage id give it a 10 out of 10. Best storage for a small camper anywhere. We don't have kids but too he bunks came in handy for more storage. And the extra back door was very nice. Size wise I'd give it a 4 out of 10. Well it could be worse lol. You get what you pay for. But I've owned 3 campers in 1 year for the last 4 years so I've had them all. 5th wheel truck camper big 35ft bumper pull. So over all I would rate the clipper a 5 out of 10

This impressed me at first sight as a very good trailer. It had everything I wanted or needed in a camper. I upgraded from a pop up. I'm an amateur radio operator an will be installing radio antenna cabling.
I camped the first time at a local state park to test the camper out and all went well. My second trip was about 250 miles. On this trip the toilet water valve leaked from a crack caused by water freezing and expanding in the flow valve. Overall, the toilet was the cheapest made by its' manufacturer.
At the same time the kitchen sink faucet sprayed water all over. A red plastic flanged washer had split were the pipe connects to the top of its base. The dealer replaced it.
The camper sat in the driveway a few months until my next trip. Preparing for the trip I hooked up electric and water. The same faucet washer split. I believe this should be made of neoprene instead of a hard plastic.
These are the only problems I've had. In my opinion these problems could be resolved by the manufacturer installing higher quality fixtures
I do like and am enjoying the Clipper.

I will never buy anything with coachman name on it, not even a wheelbarrow. This company should be ashamed putting a product of this inferior quality on the market. They should more ashamed letting dealerships of the kind I dealt with represent them.

Truly an exceptional RV and price!

The few times we used the trailer we enjoyed it very much. Due to health problems I am no longer able to drive, therefore am not able to use it. The trailer is in excellent condition, comes with a 10 year warranty, 2 2000 Honda Generators with extended gas tank plus many more extras. It is ready for an adventurous person/family who is looking for a home on wheels to enjoy.

Very comfortable, roomy for 2 people. Bathroom toilet area a bit tight. Great separate shower stall. Never have towed so cannot comment. Handles well on all roads, wind not much of a factor. Easy to set up and breakdown. One downfall is how the electric plug is stationed. Hard to connect in compartment. Set up of the black water second pull handle is very inconvenient.

Spend 6 months a year in it...very livable. Best floor plan I have seen in a 32-footer. Bathroom sink has lots of counter space, his and hers cabinets, and is outside of the toilet/shower room. Lots of inside and outside storage. Easy to drive and get 7-8 MPG with toad. Purchased new. This is our 4th motorhome and we plan on keeping it for a long time.

My wife and I have traveled many time in this RV and we really enjoy the spaciousness of the floor plan. We travel with two dogs and there is plenty of room for all of us. We enjoy the large kitchen counter workspace, so much larger than most travel trailers we have seen. On chilly mornings we enjoy the fireplace to warm us and to take the chill out of the trailer. Lots of windows bring in light and great views.

Only one negative comment about this trailer is lack of large opening for outside storage. Since you need a pickup to tow this unit anyway, we use the truck bed to haul and store our BBQ unit. Three is ample storage outside, just no large opening for bulky items. Inside storage is great. We love the Cherry wood paneled cabinets.

With Husky load leveling and anti-sway hitch, towing this trailer with a half-ton truck has been enjoyable. We recommend this trailer to anyone wanting a roomy, well built and classy looking trailer for their RV needs.

What a great size for us. Not to big to get into grocery stores parking lots. It is easier to find parks with open space because it's on 25 ft but you still have plent of room full bathroom with full size shower a queen size bed and dinette area sets great with much discs. Stove top is easy to cook on. We have used one for a year now and had a blast in it.

Love this RV, especially this specific year (2013) and layout! I think what sold me on this RV was the kitchen. Almost all RV’s we ever looked at had a galley style kitchen with just a small pop-up end table to prep food on! It is rare to see this “large” of kitchen in a RV...especially since it’s in one of the smallest Class C RV’s you can buy. We love to cook and there is so much room to do this in this kitchen. I would’ve love to see an oven or even a convection microwave oven, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. We went out an bought a really nice Toaster Oven and carry it in the RV when we need an oven. Seriously, I can’t say enough about the LAYOUT in the 2013 Coachmen Freelander 19cb. The designer was so smart about everything...utilizing every little space in the right way! There is no wasted space in this little RV and to be able to sleep 5 people....WOW!!!! Whomever designed this 2013 RV Layout should win RV Designer of The Year!!! This RV will not disappoint you!

The Clipper performed great! We turned off the water and drained all the tanks when the temp got below 35 but otherwise, all was well. We have had very few issues with it and all have been covered by the warranty.

This unit has been very dependable with few problems. Has steer safe assembly installed therefore it handles better than the original front end design. Never towed with it, but it has substantial power. Took out dinette for office chairs, and added a computer desk. No leaks ever from the roof or windows. Roof gets treated twice a year, and the unit is waxed twice a year. Good buy if you want a quality motorhome, without breaking the bank.

Used this RV for both long and short family trips for a family of four and sometimes 8. It drives great with plenty of power. The kitchen is functional though slightly cramped. We cooked a lot and baked a lot with many great meals cooked indoors. The AC, heater and refrigerator/freezer work great. This is a great first RV owner unit. Good for vacationing but probably not the best unit for primary residence.

It's our first RV. We've spent over 40 nights in it so far, tow it with a Toyota Tundra and really like it. It's 6940 lb dry weight and 29' length made it easy to tow and park. It is hard to tow at 75 mph in a hard wind but will do about 68 mph just fine. Little or no wind it pulls 75 easy. For 2 people the RLS floor plan is perfect. The room at the end of the bed is nice too. We also love the separate toilet room, wouldn't want an RV without it. The shower has plenty of head room, not cramped at all. I wish the air conditioner was quieter but I think it's noise level is average for RVs. It's 5 years old now and most everything works fine. One drawer lost its slide track which is an easy fix with bigger screws and glue. It has a winter package and is nice and warm on cold night nights in the mountains. It's a good length 5th wheel for most any park. That helps when parks are busy or in older state parks with smaller spaces.
I do want to add power leveling jacks in the back for easier set up and leveling. The Awning is Manuel but it's easy to roll out and set up.

We love the floor plan: large bathroom, lots of storage inside and out, big kitchen counter w/double sink, comfortable bed. Real oven that bakes great. The refrigerator is awesome and the freezer helps re-freeze our packets for any coolers we take along. The slide-out does NOT have to be extended to move around in the trailer: you can still eat at the table. The bed is a walk-around for easy access. Perfect for a couple or up to 4 people for sleeping. Tows great, electric tongue jack and stabilizers make an easy setup or can be used manually. I have recommended this trailer to other friends.

We have had this unit about a year and a half and have enjoyed quite a few local trips and one long trip 8400 miles out west which were totally enjoyable. The unit is so easy to drive you can Park it in the regular parking spot, takes literally five minutes to set up or breakdown for trave. It averages 11.2 miles per gallon on the open road. The coach has a ton of storage space so if you want to be on the road for weeks or months at a time you’ve got all the room you need. Did I mention it is in like new condition?

The 2012 Freelander 21QB, actually 24' in length, is a great value for the money. It is a great option for two adults and up to two children. Although it technically sleeps six, that would be a bit crowded. In addition to the rear Queen bed, the dinette converts to a Full size bed (48" x 76"). The overcab bunk has a weight limit of 350 lbs.

PROs: 1) The rear bed is 60" x 80", very spacious for an RV and so much more liveable than the "Short Queen" (60" x 76") that is so common in other models. An added bonus is that standard Queen-size sheets fit perfectly! 2) the fresh water holding tank is 50 gallons, lots bigger than most Class Cs and even some Class As. This means we stay out in remote areas longer without breaking camp. 3) The exterior "basement" storage is huge! Over 100 square feet! We can fit everything we need for a month-long trip in with no problem. Have not seen this much storage in other models. 4) It is very easy to drive and has a good turning radius. 5) The dinette is designed in a circular "lounge" style, which is great for watching TV and relaxing. See related Cons below.

CONs: 1) The factory installed vents are cheap and flimsy. We immediately replaced ours with Fantastic Vents. 2) The window in the coach side entrance door (not the cab) is made of frosted glass, reducing driver visibility. We had ours replaced with clear safety glass and we added a shade for privacy when needed. 3) The table for the dinette is too big for the space. We took it out and just store it for when we might need to use it to convert the dinete into a bed. We use a large tv tray table for indoor dinners and we made our own insert to make the sofa more comfortable. 4) The wardrobe for hanging clothes has two rods that run from the exterior wall to the wardrobe door instead of a single rod running across the top of the wardrobe. A simple modification to make. I notice that Coachmen made this change to later models too. 5) Curved shower door on a track is irritating but functional. Coachmen changed this to a regular swinging door set on the diagonal in later models.

Summary: with a few simple modifications, the 2012 Freelander 21QB is a great combination of compact size and desireable features! I would buy it again.

Overall the quality of the RV was great, but there were some really cheap minor quality issues that were weird to me. Example: High quality privacy glass on windows, window operating system work well, then the little knob that operates it strips out because its cheap plastic. Example cargo doors work well but the clip to hold them open is cheesy plastic that rapidly deteriorates in sunlight. Example: Plastic roof vent covers rotted after 15 months, bought some after market covers and after 2 1/2 years still in service. These items mentioned were not expensive to repair, but after market prices were cheaper than using parts from dealer and were of much better quality. What is up with that?

We purchased our Brookstone coach new and have used it about 5 months each year since then. We like the overall quality of the unit. We had a slide topper replaced under warranty with no problem. We did have to do some sealing of an opening in the underbelly to keep out mice. A little foam sealant fixed the problem. The unit tows nicely with the air bag pin box. The rubber roof has been excellent with no problems. The dealer fixed all the problems on our punch list before delivery. The only major issue on this unit has been the tires which failed at less than 4 years old.

We purchased our unit new to use for camping and some tailgating. Found this RV to be a great first model. Needed the bunk house option for the kids. Had an extended warranty with it also. Over the years a few issues, small things happened but were taken care of with the warranty. In 2017 we did develop leaks in the bottom bunk that were not covered (were told leaks never are) so decided to trade it in. I found the Mirada to be comfortable and affordable. No big issues until the leak 6 years later. Great first model.

I recently purchased a (rarely used) 2011 295 RLDS and am now doing some maintenance and upgrades. My disappointment is the quality of work I found. First, someone in the factory put his/her knee through the forward mattress support. Instead of fixing the problem, they simply stapled another piece of the same material over it. Then,I took the Jensen radio out to replace a cable and found a large pile of sawdust/wood splinters, and a hole in the back wall of the radio enclosure that looked a rat chewed a hole in it (someone punched hole in it with a screwdriver). I have also found numerous screws that were clearly screwed in by a someone who had no pride in his/her work; odd angles, over-tightened/stripped. Also discovered that the insulation for the fridge cabinet had peeled of the walls, and was blocking the hot air flow (and heating up the adjoining pantry cabinet...a major project requiring a new vent. Finally, the galley under-counter drawers were very poorly installed; scrap lumber, missing screws and torqued drawer slides. The level of quality control is sloppy and simply unacceptable.

A good entry to a diesel coach at a very good price. Coach had a very good floor plan that made it very easy to live in. Plenty of storage in the closets and underneath. Driving the coach was very comfortable feeling even towing a car, fuel mileage was very good for a coach of that length, had plenty of torque to handle the hills and mountains. very minor problems, radio speaker did not work, clearance light burnt out and insulation above refrigerator fell, but this was taken care of by dealer.

As Class A RVs go, this is such a simple RV to take of if you are just getting into RVing. It drives well, very smooth, and the gas mileage runs from 8-11 miles per gallon depending on whether you are towing (or not). The one piece windshield makes your view of the world as it slides by just breathtaking. We love that feature! If you are lucky enough to find one that has upgraded window shades, buy it! That does make a difference in the interior temperature/comfort/privacy factor. There are more storage areas than you can possibly want/use. Everything is within easy reach on the exterior and interior. I wasn't crazy about the inflatable mattress in the fold-out sofa, but I just added a good quality mattress pad and the problem was solved. Nice gas coach!

I purchased this Coachmen new and it was my first RV purchase after spending several years researching. The RV handles well. Gas economy is good (approx 12 mpg) because I drive slow. I have modified the dinette area because it was not very comfortable and occupied to much space. Overall I am quite happy with the quality of build. After traveling over 30,000 miles so far, most of the time with only my dog, I find it to be everything I had hoped for. We have travelled over 43,000 miles with very few mechanical issues with our Couchmen Cross Country 383FWS. Ours is a full wall slide, and really makes a big difference. I counted 57 draws & doors inside the coach. Outside bays storages consisted of 8 bays with 4 of them with the upper part of the bay being all the way threw. Additionally the wrap around windshield gives you a great view of the country as you drive. But the best part is the fuel economy. The ability to achieve over 11 miles per gallon were the normal. Pulling a 3800 pound car and driving over 11k mountains was a pleasure. For those that would like a entry level diesel motorhome, this is a very great unit.

Pros - Great storage!!, Floor plan, very liveable, Easy to drive and park as it is just a little longer that a long bed pickup. No slides to deal with. Easy to install any accessories or additions (I added solar panels.) I will have this coach for a long time as it meets our needs very well.

Cons - Holding tanks monitor is inaccurate. It would be nice to be able to get around the bed to make it, but that is the trade-off for having this floor plan and size.

We love this rv. It handled very well. Before we got it, I wouldn't even drive my car on the interstate because the traffic scared me. But this was so fun to drive, before the end of the first summer I was driving on the interstate in this rv. I even pulled our boat or towed our car and went off by myself! This rv was so easy to setup. I would take it and get to the campground, get it all setup myself (including levelling) and then my husband would show up when he got off work and all he had to do was sit down and open his beer! He had it good for sure. We hated to sell it, but life happens and we just couldn't get away like we used to. We feel the Coachmens are very well built and would highly recommend this rv.

This was an inexpensive, but very poorly made toy hauler. They used old parts that had been laying around for quite a while. Even the valve stems dry rotted after having the trailer for only 6 months. The tires all wore out in only a few thousand miles. (trailer was never loaded even close to the maximum, and I check tire pressures every day.) The layout was terrible. You could not close the bathroom door while using the toilet because it would hit your knees. I don't remember the brand of axles, but they were bent from the factory and Coachman would not warranty them saying it was the manufacturer's issue. The rear ramp door started to leak and blister on the outside after 13 months. There was no fox for it, they said it had to be replaced. All in all...never buy another Coachman product again.

I purchased this new 10 years ago. I thought I'd give a review of how it has held up after four cross country trips, and countless shorter camping adventures.
Long story short, I'm still very happy with my rig. After hearing and reading about so many problems with others rigs of various brands and styles, I braced myself for the worst.
I'm not sure whether I lucked out or Coachmen does offer a quality product, but I've never had an issue with workmanship or quality of the materials used.
I've changed out a few things and modified the interior, but all because I wanted to personalize it.
I would absolutely consider another Coachmen product when and if I ever decide to sell this one.

This motorhome is like new, it only has 21,500
miles. It drives very well. It has leather seats that are very comfortable. It has 3 slide outs which give you lots of room. It is a very comfortable motorhome to stay in. It sleeps 6-7 people. It also has a leather couch that turns into a bed. It has cabinets everywhere through the home. It has an on board generator, that powers the motorhome when you want to get out into far places. It has a separate bathroom with lighted mirrors besides the shower. It has a refrigerator with a separate freezer for your frozen items. This motorhome will last you for years with the low miles. It has new tires and everything in it is like new. I am only selling it because I have had major back surgery, and I am looking at another surgery this year. You will not be disappointed in this camper. The motorhome feels like you are at home, it is very comfortable. I would rate the livability as a five star. I have all the books about everything in the camper.

CArpi was a good unit. Enjoyed using it. The workmanship was lacking. Allowed for leaking and required constant upkeep. The floors were very cheaply done with very thin wood which wore quickly leaving it soft throughout. Studs were not spaced well in floor adding to the softness, esecially in the main traffic areas. At one point the rear frame separated allowing the unit to sag which had tobe repaired and welded back. Wish it would have held up better could of used it much longer.

We just purchased our coach and are really enjoying it. The room and amenities are exceptional. The quality that I have seen in this coach surpasses anything that I could have expected. The ride is very soft, she travels down the highway with ez, and the entire unit is very quite while driving on the highway. My MPG isn't all that bad for this size unit. I have owned a lot of RVs in the past even bigger coaches, but this one by far out surpasses them by far.

We purchased this 2005 model in 2016. The price was lower than many of the same models. It had some obvious flaws but my husband is very handy and he felt he could repair it. We are discovering a lot of water damage due to what he feels is very shoddy workmanship. Very little was done to prevent water intrusion. Considering that this RV cost new what a decent little house would cost your would think they would have used more waterproofing. We really like the floor plan, the storage is great, the ride is great, interior finishes are very nice, and all mechanicals still work great. We bought an older Subaru Outback for a dinghy and discovered this RV is underpowered for towing even this small car. We are considering a Banks Power Pack upgrade. We spend a lot of time in our RVs and the size and design work well for our needs.

For my husband and I traveling our country was so wonderful in our Class C. Our daughter also traveled with us as we saw many beautiful sites. She loved the huge bed over the cab where she kept much of her personal things. It was perfect for her. It is not "camping" it is vacationing. Like I always say "I know who slept in my bed last night." There is always a bathroom with us, and stopping for lunch is so easy, start the generator and there is electric. We absolutely loved our RV. Today's campgrounds are resorts, they have everything you could want right there. Setting up after stopping for the day was very easy, Joe would plug in the electric and Cable TV, hook up the water; I would press a button and the Room slide would go out and that was it, 5 minutes.

Love the fireplace and big screen TV combo facing the sleeper sofa. Most RVs seem to have the big TV at the front of the rig over the driver's head. The DirecTV dish and tow package aren't cheap; glad this one has them. The raised frame on this rig does allow sharper turning radius, which is always a plus. Wish the bed were a King, but at least it's a new Queen mattress. This rig is in great shape!

Very good value for the dollar. I would not buy a new one simply due to letting someone else absorb the depreciation and than you can buy a very nice luxury coach at a affordable price. They drive great with the v10 and the air suspension is great. I gave the floor plan a lower rating due to the sofa and booth dinnette being on the same side making it difficult to talk to other people when seated there. These coaches offer a lot of bang for the buck.

I bought this trailer (sport plus 128)used from the first owner. Its a 12' foul dinette model. The floor plan was exactly what I wanted, for being 14 years old its in great shape. All original, everything works as the day it was new. No signs of any leaks at all. It had A/C installed by dealer when new. I contacted the factory about some questions I had, even though ownership has changed I talked to a guy who works there for last 30+ years and he took the to to answer all my questions even though it's used and way beyond warranty. I'd buy another one again. Its a heavy trailer, but I knew that going in. I tow with a 3/4 ton trying and it has no issues. Easy to set up, clean and maintain.

Wife and I had a 2002 Aurora, toured 26 state of the country in it, without any trouble, hence the reason we are looking to buy another one. Reason for the lower rating on the livability and floor plan is simply we didn't like the sofa and booth dinette being on the same side of the coach, making it difficult to have conversation with everyone but that's a small detail that we could live with.

We had a 2001 Coachman Aurora and loved the drivability with the air ride suspension and not having to hang on for dear life when the winds would kick up or a semi was passing. The unit fits our needs well.
If you're looking for fit and finish, creature comforts, or a plush coach, this is not the model for you.
Structurally, everything remains intact and tight, and nothing is falling apart...some of this is attributable to the fact that we continually maintain and "adjust" things in the coach. Only 30Amp shoreline.
It has V10, however, the transmission appears to be maxed out with the weight the unit, gear, water, etc... It downshifts a lot on grades that I would consider average or just above average.
The outside storage compartments are made of plastic and unfinished.
Now, the positives.... we have a 7Kw genset, 2 AC units, 2 TV's with antenna/satellite option.

This RV has been a trooper for us! The trips we took in it where safe and I never felt like we would ever get stuck some where on the side of the road which is defiantly important with a family of 6. It has a super strong engine which important when your towing your SUV behind you. We have enjoyed our time with our RV lots of family adventures! The inside is almost new we have kept up on making sure it stayed in almost new condition. The original carpet is still covered in plastic and we put another carpet on top to keep it in good or new condition. This RV is more than worth the price I am asking.

Just took a 8200 mile trip in this 1992 RV. Had no mechanical issues at all, only oil changes and gas was all that was needed to keep us on the road. We are upgrading to a more recent and slightly larger Coachmen Leprechaun and really didn't even look at any other manufacturer or model because we love this one so much. Such a rugged vehicle!
