2004 Born Free 26’ Rear Bath on the Ford E450 frame, with the Triton 6 liter V-10 engine, 76,429 miles and a new heavy duty transmission with oversized cooler. Synthetic motor oil has been changed regularly, no oil leaks. The rear seals, rotors and brakes are new, as are the four Bilstein shock absorbers. It has a rear camera for backing into those tight spots. The Winegard antenna was installed this year and has an amplifier that brings in all the local channels. The propane tank and hoses were replaced 4 years ago. It has a 6 gallon propane water heater, 2 burner kitchen stove and a ducted forced air furnace. There is a 2” receiver for towing and I added a 1” receiver for a bike rack so the bikes could come along, even if we were towing something. The air conditioning is a roof mounted Duo Therm that also has an electric coil for another source of heat. There is an electric Carefree Colorado awning. The generator is a Generac 4kw that I run on a monthly schedule to keep it lubed and ready. There are 2 deep cycle coach batteries that feed the on-board 1000 watt inverter.
Inside the coach, the florescent lighting has all been replaced with two level LED fixtures (2 lights per fixture). There is a large queen size bed area over the cab, and I made a custom ladder with steps instead of rungs that provides easy access. I recently upgraded the “jack knife” (pull out) sofa to a full size wall-away futon bed that doubles as a bed or a sofa. The carpet in the coach area has been replaced with LVT (luxury vinyl tile) up to the cab area. All the appliances are in good working condition. The kitchen sink faucet has been upgraded to a single lever type with detachable sprayer. The bathroom sink and faucet have also been upgraded to porcelain and a brushed nickel fixture. The rig is set up for satellite and cable TV (inside and outside) with a LED flat screen TV on an articulating arm. The solid oak woodwork is in excellent condition and we upgraded the backsplash in the kitchen with multicolored slate tile. There is a custom made bench that goes between the front seats and has storage, but there is ample storage throughout this coach.
If you are familiar with Born Free Motorcoaches, you know this is a quality built unit that we have maintained and made many upgrades to. It has been stored inside when not in use and is ready to go without having to do anything but pick your first destination! I hope someone can enjoy it as much as we have.
