Corps unable to open campgrounds along navigation system
(May 20, 2013) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District is unable to open Corps-operated campgrounds along the Oklahoma portion of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System for the 2013 recreation season. Funding for the Oklahoma portion of the navigation system has been reduced to the point where the Corps is not able to safely open and operate the campgrounds.
Long investigation leads to arrest in Ill. campground theft
(May 20, 2013) -- Last Monday, a 19-year-old Sandwich man was arrested and charged with theft, capping a three month investigation, reports the Morris Daily Herald. Richard Stiles allegedly stole money from the Hide-A-Way Lakes Campground in Yorkville on Feb. 12.
