Romotow-Man-w-JeepA New Zealand company, Romotow, has come up with a radical new RV travel trailer design that could revolutionize RV construction. The newly-minted RV designer calls its unique concept travel trailer “the next frontier in mobile living.” Since introducing a prototype of the new design in Christchurch this past December, Romotow has been shopping its prototype to RV manufacturers for testing and future production which means it will probably be a couple of years before we start seeing Romotows cruising down U.S. and Canadian highways.

Romotow-WomanThe sleek, curved lines of the  RV units, which look something like an elongated letter “C,” certainly have the appearance of something from the future. Unlike any RV on the road today, the Romotow has an innovative contemporary look that is a radical departure from the typically boxy shape of most travel trailers. Lightweight and aerodynamic to maximize fuel efficiency and road stability, the Romotow has a unique pivot feature that allows the outer shell to swing away from the living space to create a raised and covered outer living area. The company claims that the new design provides 70% more floor area than today’s standard travel trailers.

While its futuristic styling is certain to appeal to the growing number of younger owners that are embracing the RV lifestyle, the Romotow is designed for easy and comfortable use by RVers of all ages. Power-assisted brakes, pneumatic shocks, gyro-assisted self-leveling pads and struts, and a rear-mounted camera improve comfort and safety. Comfort and convenience options include sliding doors, a windbreak, louvered windows, easy-clean furniture, a sheltered BBQ deck and more.
