Multigenerational trips provide wonderful opportunities for grandparents to connect with their grandchildren. Taking an RV vacation with elderly relatives allows children and their elders to see life — and each other — from new perspectives. Seniors will delight in the unbridled joy with which children embrace life, and children will enjoy hearing firsthand the old stories that give each family its unique character.
Traveling can be a challenge for seniors; but unlike other forms of travel, RV vacations are very senior friendly. Recreational vehicles allow seniors room to move around and stretch during driving time, eliminating stiff joints and many of the aches and pains that come from sitting in the same position for long hours. When traveling by RV, seniors have constant access to comfortable beds for napping, a kitchen for preparing snacks and a convenient onboard toilet. With all the conveniences of home within quick and easy reach, seniors can relax and enjoy the trip.
Family reunions are a growing trend, but a family’s most important members often stay home to avoid arduous car trips or exhausting airline travel. Comfortable, convenient and relaxed RV travel encourages grandparents and elderly relatives to join in the fun of family outings and get-togethers.

A former corporate executive, Jan Elmo now spends her days traveling the back roads of North Carolina in her RV, sharing stories with impoverished children. Jan is the backbone of Read and Feed, a nonp0rofit group that seeks to feed the brains and imaginations of young children through reading. Jan’s RV has allowed her to reach often forgotten children who live on tiny farms and back-country hollows.
Jan is one of many RV owners who embraced volunteer travel long before it became the hot new tourist industry it is today. Travel agencies the promote volunteer tourism ask you to plunk down anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars to spend your vacation building schools, teaching children to read or digging irrigation ditches with farmers in impoverished areas. Such “feel good” vacations may just be catching on with many magnanimous Americans, but they’re old hat to members of the RV Nation.
RV owners have been combining good deeds with leisure time for decades. The independent, self-contained living capabilities of RV motorhomes and RV travel trailers make it easy for RV travelers to venture to and work in remote sites and communities. RVers don’t have to worry about a lack of basic services or bed space because they bring everything they need with them. For RVers volunteering offers the opportunity to give back and build friendships while rebuilding communities.

When buying or selling an RV online, one of the thorniest issues is how to handle the money. When RV buyers and sellers don’t know each other and may live half a continent apart, both parties are wise to want to protect themselves and their investment. The safest way to solve this financial conundrum and protect the interests of both parties is to use a reliable, professional third party to handle the money.
Online escrow services like Escrow.com reduce the possible risk of fraud and deception when buying or selling vehicles like RVs online. Regulated by the government, licensed escrow firms like Escrow.com can be trusted to collect, hold and disburse funds in accordance with buyer and seller instructions.
When money is held by a disinterested, licensed third party escrow service, both parties to the sale benefit. Buyers know they will receive and be given time to inspect and approve their newly purchased RV before their money is released to the seller. Sellers know that the buyer’s money has been collected and is being held, giving them peace of mind when they release or ship their RV. With the buyer’s money held in escrow during the completion of the sales transaction, sellers know they’ll receive their money as soon as the buyer accepts the RV.

People think of RVing camping as somewhat rugged luxury. It’s camping, after all. RV campgrounds are the last place you would expect to find Swedish massages, acupuncture therapy and herbal body wraps; but a new trend in luxury RV resorts is changing that. Wellness centers that offer many of the holistic health activities and pampering delights of high-class spas are the newest trend at luxury RV resorts.
While camping in beautiful settings with panoramic views of rugged mountains or pristine blue-water lakes, at these resorts RV campers can partake of host of wellness-oriented amenities that can include hot mineral baths, a variety of rejuvenating massage techniques, acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine treatments, healthy living seminars, meditation labyrinths, and popular or exotic exercise classes from Pilates and yoga to Zumba and Qigong – all while sipping natural spring water from onsite wells. It’s RVing like you never imagined!
Wellness-centered RV resorts are enticing RV campers with promises to pamper the body and soothe the mind. They particularly appeal to younger, more active retirees who are interested in taking better care of their health. The 90-site Springs at Borrego RV Resort in Borrego Springs, California employs licensed massage therapists and acupuncture practitioners to serve resort campers and hires experienced fitness and yoga teachers to lead classes. One of the largest RV wellness resorts, the 1,625-site Great Outdoors RV Nature and Golf Resort in Titusville, Florida, boasts multiple fitness centers, swimming pools and whirlpool spas with plenty of scheduled fitness activities to serve RV campers.
